Central Carolina Community Foundation | Columbia, SC

Our team was selected to craft a design that met both ideological and functional goals of this philanthropic organization. Strategic decisions were made throughout the design process to balance vision and budget. Large glass doors invite visitors from the elevator lobby into the Gallery that becomes the hub of public activity. The Gallery feeds into a large conference room and board room that can host up to 40 guests in a variety of seating configurations. Located in the central core of the suite, a “Hive” and Collaboration Zone bring employees together to share a meal or collaborate on a project.

Central Carolina Community Foundation’s success and growth called for an expansion, and we were honored to work with them to add square footage to their working space that continued the design thought from their current space into the new. This versatile and adaptable space serves as a dedicated space for the board but is also utilized by staff and members of the community. The glass doors lead you into a communal space that feels inclusive and inspiring, intentionally helping foster relationships between staff, donors, and nonprofits. A large flexible conference space with forward-thinking technology integrated throughout is functional and offers tremendous views of Bull Street District. A smaller breakout room offers flexibility in space use and allows coworkers to duck in for impromptu meetings.

As a result of the design vision, the space is welcoming and comfortable while also maintaining a sense of professionalism.
